In most cases, just plain old method invocations will do. If two Business-Modules are on the same level (like e.g. “H&V Controller” and “H&V Simulator” from the example in point 4), invoking a public class’ method is just fine. But when we look at all the extra stuff in the Clean/Hex/Onion trio that has been added around that core concept, these architectures don’t look so simple anymore (see images below). I must admit that the Hexagonal one, at least in the original paper, looks the most straightforward.
